RESEARCH & EXPERTISE:
Former activities were about the foundations of mathematics and mathematical
logic (models for higher order arithmetics (PhD). Main interest over the last
few years: the computational linguistics and particularly the work on natural
language (Polish) interfaces to the knowledge systems. Study and design of a
formal grammar and an electronic dictionary of Polish resulting with a
prototype of a question answering system interpreting (natural) Polish
questions (POLINT). Study of language algorithms. The implementation was based
on an empirical study of a corpus of human-human dialogues. The actual work is
focused formats and resources of linguistic data Polish language engineering,
formal grammars for free order languages with discontinuity, computer modelling
of language competence for robots. (KBN project POLEX, European COPERNICUS projects 1032 CEGLEX and 621 GRAMLEX). Current interrest in applications of Human Language Technologies in public security sector.
