- computational linguistics and particularly the work on natural language (Polish) interfaces to the knowledge based systems.
- study and design of formal grammars and an electronic dictionaries of Polish
- development of a generic prototype of a question answering system interpreting (natural) Polish questions (POLINT)
- studies of language algorithms - studies of human-human dialogues as methodological fundation for human-computer interaction
- language-based ontologies (wordnets) (Development of "PolNet-Polish WordNet")
- applications of Language Technologies in the area of Public Security
The actual work is focused on formats and language resources for Polish language engineering, formal grammars, computer modelling of language competence for robots, multiagent systems with emulated language competence. (Polish Government (KBN) project POLEX, European COPERNICUS Projects 1032 CEGLEX
and 621 GRAMLEX; the project of the Polish Platform for Homeland Security (PPBW) (Polish Government Grant Nr R0002802 "Technologie przetwarzania tekstu polskiego zorientowane na potrzeby bezpieczeństwa publicznego / Text Processing Technologies for Homeland Security Purposes"), ). Wordnet (design and implementation of Polish wordnet “PolNet – the Polish WordNet” /free Available through META-SHARE/).
