The aim of the conference is to give the opportunity to present recent achievements and exchange new ideas in the field of fixed and periodic point theory. The conference continues the tradition of the earlier conferences and workshops, devoted to the similar subjects, such as TMNA Będlewo 2001, TVMNA'03 Będlewo 2003; and Nielsen Number and Related Topics, Sao Paolo 1999, St John's, Newfoundland 2004.

Useful information:

The lectures will start on Monday morning July 23, 2007 and end on Saturday afternoon July 28, 2007. The conference is expected to gather 70-80 participants and will be held in the Mathematical Research and Conference Center, Będlewo (near Poznań). The Editors of the journal "Topological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis" consented to reserve a special volume of TMNA for papers that would be submitted by the participants of the meeting.

Payment:

The participants who are not supported by the organizers are expected to pay 300 EUR (250 EURO for the accommodation costs and 50 EURO of the conference fee) or 1200PLN=1000 PLN+200 PLN for Polish participants. This will cover one week of lodging from Sunday 22.07 afternoon till Saturday 28.07 afternoon including all meals; transportation from/to railway station in Mosina to/from Bedlewo (but only on the arriving and leaving days), the conference fee covers the reception party, banquet, (barbecue) and the cost of an excursion. The price of the stay of one accompanying person is also 300 EURO. If somebody needs to be in Bedlewo one day earlier or longer it is possible to stay in the Conference Center with the price of 40 EUR or 120 PLN per day. For short periods of staying (a few days) please consult the organizers.
Payment can be made in cash upon arrival to Bedlewo or by bank money transfer. Please note that the bank transfer fee (where applicable) must be paid by the participant. If you decide to pay this way, please keep a receipt and be ready to present it when you come to the Bedlewo Conference Center!

Main topics:

I. Classical (Lefschetz and Nielsen) theories of fixed points. New results in the theory of coincidence, fixed point theorems for some classes of infinite dimensional maps, fixed point theorems for different classes of multi-valued maps.

II. Lefschetz and Nielsen periodic point theories: description of minimal periods of maps of some special manifolds (nil- and solvmanifolds), minimalization of the number of periodic points in a homotopy class and a smooth homotopy class, zeta-type functions connected with numerical invariants in periodic point.

III. Low dimensional discrete dynamical systems and periodic point theory. Fixed point index and fixed point indices of iterations, Conley index methods, applications to differential equations.

IV. Theory of fixed and periodic points of symplectic maps: methods and theorems connected with Arnold conjecture and its version for diffeomorphisms (equivariant Schnirelman-Lusternik theory), methods of infinite dimensional Morse and Conley index theory, billiard theory (including multidimensional theory).

V. Applications of methods of theory of smooth dynamical systems in periodic point theory: connections with topological entropy, Hamiltonian maps.

Abstracts: The organizers plan sessions consisting of 40 min. invited lectures and parallel sessions consisting of 30 min. contributed talks.
