Second Announcement

Dear Participant of RSA'2005,

Thank you for pre-registering for the Random Structures and Algorithms meeting to be held in Poznan August 1-5,2005 (arrival date: Sunday, July 31, departure date: Saturday, August 6).

Now is time to make a final decision!
Due to a much higher number of participants than usual, we may have problems to accommodate everybody at the Trawinski Hotel, our traditional conference site. If needed, an alternative accommodation in nearby hotels will be provided. Therefore we would appreciate your final declaration as soon as possible.

You are kindly requested to complete online the registration form (http://www.amu.edu.pl/~rsa2005/registration.html), at your earliest convenience, but NOT LATER THAN MAY 15. Please note, however, that this form can be updated at any time, so you can provide some information (such as, for example, a title of your talk, exact arrival time, etc.) later on, but, preferably, by the end of June.

We are pleased to confirm that on Monday, August 1, the first day of the conference, we shall celebrate the 60th birthday of Alan Frieze. On this occasion, Alan will deliver a special invited opening lecture in the morning and the birthday party will be held in the evening.

We have also received confirmation from our special invited speakers. This year the plenary talks will be delivered by:

  • Johan Hastad (The Royal Institute of Technology)
  • Penny Haxell (University of Waterloo)
  • Svante Janson (Uppsala University)
  • László Lovász (Microsoft Research)
  • Éva Tardos (Cornell University)
  • Andrew Thomason (University of Cambridge)
  • Eli Upfal (Brown University)
and, tentatively,
  • Geoffrey Grimmett (University of Cambridge)
  • Imre Ruzsa (Hungarian Academy of Sciences).
At our web page http://www.amu.edu.pl/~rsa2005/ you will find the updated information about the meeting.

If you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail rsa2005@amu.edu.pl or phone +48 61 829-5393.

Looking forward to seeing you in Poznan,

The Organizers
