Annals of the Polish Mathematical Society were brought into being by joining two journals founded by Samuel Dickstein: Prace Matematyczno-Fizyczne, 48 volumes of which were published in 1888–1951, and Wiadomości Matematyczne, 44 volumes of which were published in 1897–1939.

Commentationes Mathematicae (Prace Matematyczne) is an international journal for mathematical research. Its main area of interest includes functional analysis, operator theory, approximation theory, differential and functional equations, theory o real functions, measure and integration theory, theory of complex functions and analytic number theory. However, outstanding papers from other areas of mathematics will be also considered.
