The HEC community will meet for the 14th time this year, in Zagan, in the heart of Europe, not far from where Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland, the founding countries of HEC, have a common vertex. Austria, a younger member of HEC, is not far away.
2011 marks 400 years since the publication by Johannes Kepler of “De Nive Sexangula”, the first book on modern crystallography. Kepler’s life-path leads from Stuttgart to Tübingen, Graz, Prague, Linz, Ulm, Sagan (Zagan) and Regensburg. He is thus a perfect predecessor of the HEC idea! With HEC-14, we will celebrate an anniversary that is important for all crystallographers.
Welcome to Zagan! Welcome to HEC-14!
